Representation on the Sunderland Partnership

The voluntary and community sector (VCS) is represented on the Sunderland Partnership by delegates drawn from SCN membership.

VCS delegates attend meetings of the Sunderland Partnership and its supporting structures, representing the interests of the wider sector as a whole.

The role of the VCS Partnership Delegate

The role of a VCS Partnership Delegate includes:

• Ensuring effective community participation in the delivering the aims of the Sunderland Strategy.
• Being aware of the wider interests of our different communities and collectively raising issues and concerns prioritised by the wider SCN on Sunderland Partnership agendas.
• Ensuring a two-way flow of communication between the voluntary and community sector and organisations of the Sunderland Partnership, including the City Council, by providing regular feedback to SCN members on key issues raised and actions agreed at the strategic level, and at the same time seeking and feeding back the views of the wider SCN to strategic partners.
