The focus of the Learning City Partnership is to create a city with a thriving learning culture that supports personal fulfilment. A place where everyone will be able to access their learning in a cohesive, inclusive city committed to social justice, equality and prosperity. We will ensure learning supports the city’s economic prosperity and enables individuals to thrive in the global economy.

| The Learning Delivery Partnership was established in 1998 to find ways to increase the number of people in education and to improve results, knowledge and skill levels at all ages. |
Aims and Priorities
We want to create a city with a learning culture that supports people doing what they want to do, as well our goals of economic prosperity for all. We want everyone in Sunderland to have the knowledge and skills essential to play their part in the city’s social, cultural and economic development. We will prepare them by increasing levels of literacy and numeracy as well as the number of people with higher qualifications. Learning is central to our city’s success. By working together we can:
- Promote innovative and flexible approaches to learning
- Provide information, advice and guidance for all
- Target children, young people and adults in vulnerable or disadvantaged situations, to give them the best foundation for success in life.
